Brian Hanson CBE

Brian is a Chartered Surveyor and during his career was an equity Partner in Chapell and Matthews an old established firm of Bristol Estate Agents . Following the sale of the business in 1988 he remained a director until 1991 when he set up his own property development and investment business which he still runs

Brian has a long history of service to his local community.  He is currently a Governor of Clifton College having served a number of years on the  College Council of Governors .  Brian was  a Trustee of St James’ Priory and chaired  the Appeal Committee for the refurbishment of the adjacent church.  In addition he was a founding trustee of ‘Making the Change’ (a charity set up to provide a half-way house for young offenders leaving youth custody)  and a Member of the Appeal Committee of ‘Above and Beyond’  a charity that supports Bristol United Hospitals to provide equipment and facilities not otherwise available through the NHS. Brian is a worshipper at St Bridget’s, Chelvey and was on the Appeal Committee for the restoration of the church tower for 7 years.

Brian was made CBE for political voluntary service in the 1996 Queens Birthday Honours.  Brian held a  number of senior voluntary roles within the Conservative Party including Chairman of the South Western Area, member of the Party Board for three years and President of the National Convention 1999-2000
